(TRENTON) — Assembly members Dan Hutchison and Cody Miller (both D-Atlantic, Camden, Gloucester) joined local officials late last week to present a $400,000 ceremonial check to the Borough of Chesilhurst. The funding was secured in the Fiscal Year 2026 New Jersey State budget to support construction of a much-needed municipal complex.
Currently, the Chesilhurst Police Department operates out of a trailer and municipal court proceedings are held in a cramped space with limited capacity. The new facility will provide dedicated space for the police department, expand court capacity, and allow for more efficient delivery of essential municipal services.
“Chesilhurst deserves a municipal building that meets the needs of its residents and reflects the professionalism of its public servants,” said Assemblyman Hutchison. “This new complex will provide proper space for law enforcement, court functions, and municipal staff, and it will be a source of community pride.”
“We were proud to fight for this funding in the State budget to help Chesilhurst build for the future,” said Assemblyman Miller. “This project will improve working conditions for municipal employees, create space to better serve the public, and lay the foundation for long-term community growth.”
