LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: Moriarty, Hutchison, Miller Bills Signed into Law

The following bills sponsored by Senator Moriarty, Assemblyman Hutchison, and Assemblyman Miller were signed into law:


  • S3508/A4651: Holds parents and guardians accountable when minors engage in public brawls or disorderly conduct, with fines or legal consequences.

  • S3506: Requires the Attorney General to establish crowd management training and provide resources to local police for large gatherings and flash mobs.

  • S4344: Stops taxpayers from being double billed for fire department water service, ensuring residents aren’t paying twice.

  • S4346: Allows fire departments to continue using certain Class B firefighting foam for one year after prohibition, saving towns thousands in disposal costs.

  • S1763: Clarifies which health care professionals can provide documentation to school districts for students who need home instruction due to health conditions.

  • S3053: Requires contracts with online parking payment providers to prevent residents from being charged during certain times.

  • A-4813/S-4000- Imposes conditions on drivers approaching certain stationary vehicles and revises public awareness campaign

  • A-560/S-1990: Requires transportation network company drivers to complete anti-human trafficking training course.

  • A-4814/S-729:  Establishes tianeptine as Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.
