(WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ) – Assemblymen Cody Miller and Dan Hutchison (both D-Atlantic, Camden, Gloucester) recently joined local officials to announce $400,000 in State funding for upgrades to Winslow Township’s David Iuliucci Memorial Park. The funding will support the complete renovation of the existing tennis courts and the construction of the township’s first dedicated pickleball courts.
“Investing in community spaces like the David Iuliucci Memorial Park is about more than just infrastructure,” said Assemblyman Miller. “It’s about creating safe, welcoming spaces where families can gather, kids can play, and neighbors can come together. I’m proud we were able to secure this funding for residents in our district.”
The township plans to install new 10-foot black vinyl fencing with gates around the new pickleball courts, creating a modern, accessible space for recreational activity and community connection. The project will move forward without placing additional financial burden on local taxpayers.
“This is what partnership between state and local government looks like,” said Assemblyman Hutchison. “By delivering this funding, we are helping Winslow Township improve its public spaces without putting the burden on local taxpayers. These upgrades will benefit residents for years to come.”
The legislators presented a ceremonial check to Winslow Township Mayor Marie Lawrence.
“This generous state funding allows us to expand the recreational opportunities here in Winslow Township to now include pickleball,” said Mayor Lawrence. “We’re very grateful for this investment in our park, and I would like to thank our partners at the 4th Legislative District for making this possible.”
The improvements are part of a broader effort to revitalize public parks and promote healthy, active lifestyles throughout the 4th Legislative District.
