Community events are meant to bring us together, but recent disruptions by large groups of unsupervised teens put these gatherings at risk. Incidents like the one at Gloucester Township Day, where nearly 1,000 kids caused chaos, are becoming more frequent, leading some towns to cancel their events altogether.
To address this, our office partnered with local leaders to introduce new legislation to prevent these disturbances. The proposed bills would hold parents accountable for their children’s actions, establish penalties for those who use social media to organize disruptive gatherings and provide additional training and resources to law enforcement.
We’re working to ensure that our community events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to push for this legislation.
