Senator Paul Moriarty demands answers following an investigation by CBS News Philadelphia into the collapse of a retaining wall on the I-295 Direct Connect project. The investigation, spanning two years, revealed that the New Jersey Department of Transportation disregarded multiple alerts from the project's contractor regarding the materials used in the embankment and slope of the retaining wall before its failure in March 2021. The retaining wall, known as "Wall 22" in construction documents, is situated within the I-295 Direct Connect project, a billion-dollar initiative to ease traffic congestion at the intersection of I-295, I-76, and Route 42 in Bellmawr.
