New Jersey diners are part of our state’s identity, places where memories are made, and families come together.

But nearly 150 NJ diners have closed over the past decade as businesses face rising costs and growing competition.

That’s why legislation was introduced to help preserve these local landmarks through the SODA POP bill,  Saving Our Diners and Preserving Our Past.

The bill would:

  • Provide tax credits for qualifying diners and family-owned restaurants

  • Remove sales tax on meals

  • Create a State Registry of Historic Diners & Family Restaurants
