(GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ) - Gloucester Township Community Park will soon see major upgrades thanks to $750,000 in funding secured by Assemblyman Cody Miller and Assemblyman Dan Hutchison (both D-Atlantic, Camden, Gloucester) in the Fiscal Year 2026 State budget. The investment will fund the construction of batting cages that will be used by six local baseball and softball youth sports organizations, as well as by township residents. The project is being completed without any added financial burden on local taxpayers.

“Sports and recreation are at the heart of our community,” said Assemblyman Cody Miller. “By making this investment, we’re giving kids more opportunities to grow, compete, and build lifelong skills while also keeping the park accessible for families across Gloucester Township.”

“This project is about more than batting cages,” said Assemblyman Dan Hutchison. “It’s about investing in safe, modern spaces where children and families can come together. I’m proud we were able to secure this funding that strengthens both our parks and our community.”

“This park is really the epicenter of our sporting activities here in Gloucester Township,” said Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer. “We want to thank the legislators for securing $750,000 in State funding to make this project a reality.”

The new batting cages will provide expanded practice and training opportunities for youth athletes while ensuring that Gloucester Township residents have increased access to upgraded recreational facilities.
