I am thrilled to announce an $80 million increase in the State Budget dedicated to enhancing Higher Education. This substantial funding will drive significant improvements across various educational institutions and programs. In addition, my budget requests of more than 1.2 million dollars will directly affect South Jersey students!
CARES Institute at Rowan University
I’m proud to have secured $500,000 for Rowan University's Child Abuse Research Education and Services (CARES Institute). This crucial funding will enable CARES to continue its vital work, supporting children who have faced abuse or neglect. Its efforts have also increased the number of Child Abuse Pediatricians in New Jersey, ensuring comprehensive care for affected children.
Investing in Youth Opportunities
Over $700,000 has been allocated to broaden opportunities for young individuals:
- Camden County College: Over $500,000 will enhance a student success program designed to support graduating high school students. This initiative focuses on fostering student engagement, offering tutoring, and helping students achieve their educational aspirations, ensuring they stay on track for graduation.
- New Jersey Junior Achievement: With $250,000 allocated, this organization will continue providing career readiness and entrepreneurship programs through both in-person and online platforms.
